Advanced Open Water
Advanced Open water is the first chance you get to go investigate all of the possible adventures and avenues scuba diving has. From diving deep, to diving Nitrox, shooting video and making your own underwater movies. The adventure truly begins with advanced open water, adventures in diving.
In the Advanced Diver course, your Instructor takes you through five open water dives. You have no exams or classroom time to complete. Yes, it’s true no classroom and no pool time! Advanced open water is all about time spent in the ocean.
You will complete two core dives; deep and navigation. You can then choose another three dives from the specialty modules. These dives could be Photo, Video, Wreck, Night, Search & Recovery, Fish ID, and Naturalist, Dry suit, Multi-level, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift and boat. All of the dives you complete count towards completion of the individual specialty programs.
Prerequisites
- 15 years or 12 year when Junior Open Water
- Medical For safety, all students complete a brief questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving.

- No decompression diving
NOTE: This course should be combined with Nitrox Diver, ask for more details. At I-Dive Tec Rec Centers this course is conducted with single tanks using a harness style jacket and wing or a Stabilizer Jacket if you choose.
